Day 36 or Day 42?
My Chiropractor asked me today what day I'm on in my exercise regime. He is ready to count all the days since the beginning, counting even the one day off a week I'm taking. That's day 42. In the gritty "how many days of keeping my appointment at my fitness centre?": Thirty Six. He predicts that day 66 is a huge turning point where I move from "dragging my ass in and putting one foot in front of the other whether I feel like it or not" to gung-ho.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are very heavy for me right now, but he and my trainer assure me that the additional hour and a half with Alberta Health Services "EXERCISE FOR SENIORS" class right after my regular work out won't hurt.
I've re-named Wednesday slump day. One of the upsides of retirement. I slept in, stayed in PJs until my Chiro appointment and arrived very late to Sunburst.
My trainer at the fitness centre says I am "crushing it" (which has got to be the overstatement of the year). She wants to increase my weights - I'm pleading for a break until this other course is over.
Afterwards I made my first appointment with a grief counsellor. Retirement I will conquer you!
