The sky did not fall
Sunday the outside temperature was minus 32. I walked to and from the church, bundled in my chunky wool sweater, Canada Goose coat, leather gloves under felted well mitts, and survived.
Monday was the same temperature. I am afraid of such severe cold, and so for the third time since beginning in early September I did not go to the gym. The first time was Christmas Eve, and I arrived after they closed at noon, and the second was Christmas Day. Monday was voluntary negligence. PJs day all day. Riddled with guilt I ventured out on a few errands and the gym on Tuesday when again the temperature was below thirty [how long, oh Lord, HOW LONG?].
But the sky did not fall, so when the alarm called me from my pillow at 6:30 for a 9 AM dental appointment, and the mercury read minus 39, I put on my onesie, left a message at the dentists office, cried off my evening Social Justice Meeting, and determined to miss my fourth day of exercise.
Will my luck hold or will the sky fall?
